Social Media

I think the coolest thing about these blogs is that you have the opportunity to get into the minds of its publisher. Like imagine if Shakespeare had a blog. Or Ralph Lauren when he was just starting out. How about Oprah, or a young Martin Luther King, that would be pretty cool. Not that I'm comparing myself to some of the greatest minds in the world, but SO WHAT if I am.

I guess it can act as a personal timeline to our generation that future generations can look back on.

Just An Update

I meant to create this post last week when it happened but school was kicking my *ss at the time. So I finally purchased the domain name for the brand/store that I will open with in the next couple years. I got all of the social media platform names secured so that it won't be a problem in the future. I'm pretty excited. Wooo hoooo :-)

I would tell you all the name but I'm paranoid about someone stealing it and I'm going through the beginning stages of trademarking so you'll just have to wait. :-P

Drizzy Baby!

I decided to create a post about Drizzy Drake Rogers because since the album leaked.. I mean was released, I've been listening to it non-stop. I love this ish.

A lot of people are complaining about it being an R&B album but ummm if you've listened to any of his past work, i.e mixtapes then you wouldn't make such a statement. *Shots fired at my professor* (haha). What are your thoughts on the album?

"Cause they're lovingggggg the crewww!".. Sorry, lol.

Viva La Brownskins!!

Enough of the lightskin vs brownskin talk. We need to recognize the true superior... BROWNSKINS lol.

These girls are amazing. They do the whole random topics and vent about things that bother them while adding humor. Here's a video by one of the ladies discussing the controversial lightskin vs darksin topic. Pretty funny, enjoy.

You can check out their website at: http://thosegirlsarewild.com/

They Can Not Be Serious

Models get paid to wear lingerie & take pictures in them. I guess I'll just assume that these girls on Facebook are low budget models, taking low quality pictures in hopes of landing a lucrative modeling career. I refuse to believe that these girls are doing it just for comments and "likes". Shhh, ignorant is bliss.

To the grown women taking photoshoots wearing pink wigs with the large cursive Barbie chain that call themselves "Barbies". You can not be serious. I mean like lady you have 3 kids. What would happen if your photos got leaked to your child's PTA meeting members. Who would take you seriously?!

Homewrecking!

So the other day I posted this status about homewrecking that got a lot of "buzz" in my mini Facebook world, so I decided to share. Basically I was on the train on my way to class and this popped into my head. Now I won't say that I'm going through this situation per say but umm it does kind of, sort of apply in some ways.

A few years ago I was on the other fence and thought homewrecking should be viewed as a crime to society and those that engage in such activity should be held responsible for their actions. That was spawned from the whole Swizz Beatz/Alicia Keys drama that was unfolding at the time. I blamed Alicia Keys for it allll & even thought "the nerve of her to make such spiritual/uplifting songs if this is what she was capable of". It's kind of funny now that I think about it.

But that was years ago, now that I'm a little older my views on this topic are completely changed. No one has the ability to take someone from another, So the whole concept of a "homewrecker" doesn't exist to me. Sole responsibility lies on the person that chose to leave; not the third party. I know now that if I were ever truly happy in a relationship & loved the sh*t out of someone; there's no one person in this entire world that could posses the power to take me from that.

Your thoughts?

COMPLETELY Hypothetical

Who still pays for downloading music?! New music hits the Internet within milliseconds, and file sharing websites within seconds! Is it really "stealing" if we're all technically "sharing"? Honestly, I feel like these artists make enough money so when I sit here and think about all the money that these artists make outside of music; I don't really feel as bad. I mean just because I don't mean anyone else isn't; I'm not swaying masses over here either so the $4 that I didn't spend on the 4 songs I liked of 12 on an entire album won't hurt these guys that much. Some might argue that this may be a deep ethical issue because these guys are artists and should be compensated for their work and blah, blah, blah but ummm yeah I don't really care too much and will exhibit blank stares & daydream if someone tries to argue their point.

**This is strictly for entertainment purposes only. In no way is it an admission of music piracy; these musicians are artists and should be (input all the stuff I'm supposed to say to convince you that I don't download music for free because it's completely immoral)...
Jail time is up to 5 years with fines of 250,000.. Adios mios

Seeing Right Through You

Why do 80% of people perpetrate to be this image that they're not or follow social/cultural norms that don't make any sense? I get beyond annoyed when people pretend to be something that they're not or speak on a subject that they know nothing about. I remember there being this idiot in one of my classes that said he hated the police. He was like going on and on about how the police are this and that, so I asked him to describe a situation in which he was wrongly accused of something or mistreated by an officer and he couldn't come up with one. Me being the inquiring mind that I am, I decided to take a shot in the dark and ask if he also believed in the whole "snitches get stitches" campaign. Of course he did. I didn't ask about anything else because I didn't feel like being bothered but that's exactly what I'm talking about.

I'm fully aware that not all cops are good. There are more than a few public incidents that prove this but to generalize the entire force and to claim that you hate them on the sole basis of you hearing your favorite artist say it and because that's the general assumption of your community is just so dumb. I'll let you know now, I'll be the first one to call the police if I'm in danger and to "snitch" on my neighbor that's always playing his loud obnoxious drums. Additionally, if I knew of anyone that owned a unlicensed firearm, of course I'm going to anonymously leave a tip with my local precinct because that 1,000 reward notice looks super sexy and enticing every time I see it.

Everyone wants to be soooo gangster, smh. Why? Ever since I was younger I have never been the one to fight. I always told my friends that they better not start anything with anyone because I'm not taking part in any type of fight. I'll be the first biotch to run in the OPPOSITE direction. I'll definitely text you later though to make sure you're alright. I don't normally anticipate actually receiving a positive response but that's cool. At least I performed my due diligence as a good friend by following up on your condition post fight. :-)

Introducion

I didn't really know how to start this so I guess I'll just begin with an explanation of my ingenius title/url link. I originally wanted to go for "ipleadthefifth" but that was taken, and so was "ipleadthe5th", smhhhh. Anyway, basically this blog will be comprised of me saying whatever I want to say about anything and everything. The url "ipleadtha5th" was inspired by the extent to my blatant honesty. It's kind of a joke on me feeling like sometimes I have to watch what I say in fear of my words being used against me in a court of law one day. I'm super dramatic, you'll pick up on that over time.

My explanation for my title "I'm Forced to carry raid & mace" is like a funny take on the "streets" aspect of me having to watch my mouth. Like besides the horrific threat of getting sent to jail because of my ideas and feelings, my other worry is getting my ass kicked by my peers or anyone that may stumble across this blog. Me carrying mace is a representation of me needing to keep away angry guys that may not agree with my thoughts and ideas. Raid Roach Spray will of course be used to keep away the female crowd that WILL be offended with the things I say. Basically these will all be my honest feelings about whatever. I'm not really an outspoken person, so don't expect Kanye West style outburts; but you will be entertained. I generally keep my opinion to myself, unless I'm asked or if I'm interested in contributing.

Maybe this will be a venting/psychological/spiritual/virtual diary outlet for me. Who knows, I'm a little excited...

*Credit for "Raid Roach Spray" inspired by my good friend Marquise Anderson ;-)
